HOA seeks enhanced prize money for national winners

Chandigarh, Feb 26 (UNI) Haryana Olympic Association (HOA) has demanded enhancement of prize money for the medal winners at National Games.

Talking to mediapersons here today, HOA president Abhey Singh Chautala asked the state government to increase the cash award to the Gold, Silver and Bronze medallists of the National Games to Rs 5 lakh, 3 lakh and 2 lakh respectively.

He said he had already written a letter to the government on this issue to bring it at par with Sikkim government.

He hailed the Haryana contingent which secured fifth place by winning 30 gold, 22 silver and 28 bronze medals in the National Games held at Guwahati recently.
