Hisar's Naveen to lead Haryana in junior national athletics

Chandigarh, June 18 (UNI) Naveen Kumar of Hisar would lead Haryana junior athletic team in the 7th Federation Cup National Junior Athletics Championships.

The two-day event will be held at Madurai in Tamil Nadhu from July 1, this year, Haryana State Athletic Association Secretary H S Bhadu said today.

Team Manger would be Ram Mahar Singh and Ms Suman Bala. while Mr Ramesh Kumar has been selected as the coach.

Mr Bhadu also informed that five athletes form Haryana-- Rakesh Kumar, Devinder Singh, Navjot Singh, Ajit Singh and Neelam would represent the state in the Third National Combined Events to be held at Pune on 28-29 June in the events of Decathlon, Octathlon and Heptathlon.

The other athletes selected to represent Haryana in the championship on the basis of their performance during the selection trial held on june 10 at Nidhani in Jind district include: Boys:- Jagbir singh S.P., Sunil Kumar 200 mt, (both Jind), Pardeep H.J., Satrughan L.J., Parveen Kumar 110 mt and Sunny Singh P.V. (all Bhiwani) Naveen Kumar S.P., Sidharth 1500 mt, Rajesh H.J.

(all Hisar), Parminder Singh 800mt (Panchkula), Pardeep 10 km walk (Jhajjar).

Girls :- Rinku Sangwan S.P. and Discuses (Bhiwani), Manisha Discuses (Hisar), Meenaxi Hammer, Reena Hammer (both Jhajjar) , Anju Rathi Javeline, Arti Yadav H.J., Sumitira 100 MH (all Sirsa), Manisha 400 mt (Rohtak).
