Henin unseeded for Australian Open

Melbourne, Jan. 14 (ANI): Belgian and former Grand Slam champion Justine Henin will be unseeded in this year's Australian Open.

The draw takes place tomorrow under the gaze of John McEnroe.

Wildcard entrant Henin could land anywhere in the 128-player field. Henin, the winner of seven Grand Slams, currently has no ranking after returning to competition last week following a 20-month retirement.

Potentially, Henin could be drawn to face world No. 1 and defending champion Serena Williams in the first round.

The Belgian will not be ranked until she has contested three tournaments on the WTA Tour or grand slam circuit. (ANI)
