Haryana wrestlers prove their supremacy
Chandigarh, May 28 (UNI) Haryana wrestlers once again proved their supremacy by clinching the men's Greco-Roman and women's freestyle winners trophies and finished runners-up in men's freestyle competitions in the 26th Boys and 10th Girls Sub-Junior National Wrestling Championship at Anandpur Sahib.
Haryana wrestlers proved too good in Greco-Roman style as they topped with 93 points. Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra were tied for the runners-up trophy with 67 points apiece. However, Uttar Pradesh were declared runners-up as they had more number of gold medals to their credit.
Delhi just managed to push Haryana to the second spot in men's freestyle with a one-point margin. Delhi secured 71 while Haryana had to remain themselves satisfied with the second position.
Maharashtra stood third with 58 points.
Haryana wrestlers amassed 87 points in women's freestyle. Uttar Pradesh and Manipur got second and third positions with 75 and 53 points respectively.
