Gujarat to host u-25 national Chess championship
Ahmedabad, Jun 16 (UNI) Gujarat is all set to host the Under-25 national Chess championship at Sun-n-Step Club in the city from July 1 to 8, the State Chess Association (GSCA) today announced.
GSCA secretary Mayur Patel, in a statement here, said nearly 150 young participants, including several Grand Masters and International Masters, from every nook and corner of the country were expected to participate in the championship.
Mr Patel said the host state's challenge will be spearheaded by local stars like Fenil Shah, Ankit Rajpara, Karma Pandya, Manav Vardiwale and Shivkumar Patel.
The Rs 55,000 championship will have total 11 rounds with Swiss system, he added.
