Green signals given for construction of new stadiums for CWG 2010
New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) The Infrastructure Committee of the 2010 Commonwealth Games has given green signals for the construction of four new indoor stadiums and one indoor auditorium in the capital for holding the multi-disciplinary mega event.
The Committee, while approving 17 competition venues at a meeting held yesterday, has set October 2009 as the deadline for completing construction in all the venues.
It has also approved 43 training venues, besides the site for setting up of International Broadcasting Center and Media Press Center at Pragati Maidan.
The meeting was attended by Commonwealth Games Federation CEO Mike Hooper and representatives of the Union Sports Ministry, Delhi Government and DDA, a release said here today.
