Govt asks report on Tripura's debacle in NG

Agartala, Feb 21 (UNI) The Tripura government has asked the Sports Council for submitting its report on the state's poor performance in the just concluded National Games at Guwahati.

Speaking to newspersons here last evening, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said the conuncil had been asked to submit report shortly in connection with the state's bad peformance in the National Games in every category.

The Chief Minister said at the senior level performance was bad and the reason behind such bad performance should be identified in the report.

The state government, however, has chalked out an action plan to give more focus on Sports and Physical Education. The action plan was taken at a Cabinet meeting yesterday.

It may be mentioned here that barring Tripura, all other North Eastern states, won medal in the recently concluded National Games at Guwahati.
