Governor launches logo, mascot of National Youth Games

Bangalore, Mar 18 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur today launched the logo and the mascot 'Chandan' of the First National Youth Games scheduled to be held in the state from May 11 to May 18.

Speaking on the occasion, he said about 6,000 sportspersons from all parts of the country would vie for top honours in the 24 disciplines that would take place at 17 different venues. The events would be held in the city and Mysore, he added.

Mr Thakur said the National Youth Games was a forum to prepare teams to represent the country in various international competitions in the near future, including Beijing Olympics.
