Golf crazy Mandira wants Jeev Milkha among top 20 golfers

Varanasi, June 22 (UNI) Mandira Bedi, who has become a household name as the glamourous face of televised cricket coverage, finds the lush green golf courses closest to her heart after the cricketing arena.

It is not only the masterly performance of the Men in Blue that enslaves the Bollywood actor turned TV Cricket presenter, but the deft putts by ace Indian golfer Jeev Milka Singh equally fascinates the actor.

''After cricket golf is closest to my heart and my favourite golfer is not Tiger Woods or Vijay Singh. Instead it is Jeev Milkha Singh, the son of flying sikh Milkha Singh, who finished the 2006 season by clinching 37th spot in world golf rankings.'' ''I pray god to help Jeev continue the domineering performance of 2006 in 2007 also so that he ends the year among the top 20 golfers in the world,'' Mandira said.

Mandira, who has indulged in newsmaking bouts of 'gully cricket' also takes time out from her busy schedule to take a few shots at the Golf course.

The Mandira, however, says she has no plans of making serious efforts at playing golf. ''I just tee for fun and nothing else.'' UNI
