Goa defeat TN, claim Dutta Roy Trophy

Madurai, Feb 17 (UNI) Defending Champions Goa defeated Tamil Nadu 2-0 to claim Dutta Roy Trophy in the 17th Youth (Under-21) National Football Championship here tonight.

Goa had an easy victory over Tamil Nadu, which tried to play a baffling game.

For Goa, striker Adhil Khan scored the first goal in the ninth minute and Savio Fernandez the second in the 44th minute.

Though Tamil Nadu played their best in the second half, they failed to score a goal.

While Adhil Khan of Goa was adjudged ''Man of the Match'', Ilamurugan of Tamil Nadu was adjudged ''Best Player of the Tournament''.
