Ghei slips to tied 28th in Seoul; Johl, Gangjee tied 35th

Seoul, May 25 (UNI) Gaurav Ghei carded a dismal second round score of two-over 74 to squander the strong position he enjoyed, nosediving from tied sixth to tied 28th spot on a day when all his compatriots, except Digvijay Singh, made the cut in the 6,00,000-dollar SK Telecom Open here today.

Ghei, who won the Pine Valley Beijing Open last month, looked out of touch today and dropped quite a few shots.

Compatriots Amandeep Johl and Rahil Gangjee shared the 35th spot after an even-par 72 and one-under 71 respectively for a two-round total of two-under 142.

Kolkata talent SSP Chowrasia had another off day as he carded a disappointing one-over 73 to end up on tied 61st position in the leaderboard.

However, Digvijay Singh ended all further hopes as he was the only one among the Indians to miss the cut at the halfway stage after carding one-over 73 for a total tally of seven-over 151.

Atop the charts, local hero Bae Sang-moon continued to make the most of familiar conditions to blast a three-under-par 69 to enjoy the lead for the second successive day.

He aggregates 11-under 133 after two rounds but fellow countryman Kang Sung-hoon is breathing down his neck just a stroke behind at ten-under 134.

Meanwhile, world number 29, Australia's Aaron Baddeley blasted a five-under 67 to jump to tied sixth spot from tied 35th position.
