Ghei breaks into top 200, becomes 3rd highest-ranked Indian
New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) Gaurav Ghei's fine victory at the Pine Valley Beijing Open last week has catapulted him to career-high 155th to become the fourth Indian in top 200 in world golf rankings.
Ghei, who started the season at 229th, has now become the third highest ranked Indian. He is behind Jeev Milkha Singh (54th) and Jyoti Randhawa (74th) but has overtaken Shiv Kapur (188th) in the chart.
Four Indians find place in the world's top-200 and there are a total of 18 Asian Tour members in the elite list.
Choi Kyung-ju of Korea is the highest ranked Asian at 30th.
Another Korean Yang Yong-eun is at 53rd, one place ahead of Jeev, last year's Asian Tour's UBS Order of Merit champion.
Other Asian Tour members in the top-200 include Simon Dyson of England (70th), Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee (82nd), Chapchai Nirat (169th) and Thaworn Wiratchant (187th), China's Liang Wen-chong (83rd), South African Anton Haig (94th), Australian Andrew Buckle (97th), Frankie Minoza (137th) of Philippines, Korea's Charlie Wi (184th) among others.
