Gaurav Ghei takes sole lead in AIS Golf Open
New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Gaurav Ghei carded a brilliant seven-under-par 65 to take his 36-hole total to 12-under-par 132 and grab sole lead of the inaugural Rs 60 Lakh AIS Golf Open at the Delhi Golf Club today.
SSP Chowrasia carded a level-par 72 and is in sole second place at nine-under-par 135 while Ashok Kumar carded a second consecutive 68 and a stroke further behind with his total of eight-under-par 136.
Meanwhile, tournament favourite Jyoti Randhawa carded a five-under-par 67 and was in sole fourth place with his total of five-under-par 139.
Gaganjeet Bhullar was in fifth place with a total of four-under-par 140 while Vijay Kumar was a further stoke behind and in sixth place.
Shiv Kapur had a frustrating day on the greens and carded a three-over-par 75 taking his two-day total to four-over-par 148.
The cut was applied at five-over-par 149 and 53 professionals and three amateurs made the cut and qualified to play over the weekend.
Amongst the notables to miss the cut were Chiragh Kumar, Kunal Bhasin, Sanjay Kumar, Harendra Gupta, Richard Blackwell, Rafick Ali Mollah and Rahul Ganapathy.
Navtez Singh continued to lead the amateur field and is currently placed 16th with a total of level-par 144.
