Gangjee tied 41st at Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational

Jakarta, August 29 (UNI) Firing two under 70 to move his total to one under 143, Rahil Gangjee climbed from overnight tied 65th to tied 41st to become the highest placed Indian at the halfway stage of the Pertamina Indonesia President Invitational today.

While Gangjee (73, 70) sank an eagle on the sixth, made birdies on the 14th, first, third and bogeyed the 11th, eighth and ninth.

Malaysia's Iain Steel emerged as the leader at nine under 135.

Anirban Lahiri (73, 72), Himmat Rai (71, 74) and Gaganjeet Bhullar (68, 77) were all tied 56th at one over 145. The cut was declared at one over 145.

The Indians, who missed the cut included Harmeet Kahlon (148), Naman Dawar (150), Gurbaaz Mann and Ranjit Singh Rathore (both 151).

Meanwhile, Amandeep Johl withdrew after the first round.
