Gangjee gains but Ghei loses ground in Seoul

Seoul, May 26 (UNI) After enjoying a brief stay at the top, Gaurav Ghei continued his downward slide for the second successive day, carding a shocking four-over 76 to nosedive to the 48th spot while compatriot Rahil Gangjee gained ground in the penultimate round of the 6,00,000-dollar SK Telecom Open here today.

Last month's Beijing Open winner, Ghei suffered lapse in concentration as he went on a bogey-hunting spree at the wind swept BA Vista Country Club.

Tied 35th overnight, Gangjee, however, improved his standing to tied 28th with an even-par score. He now aggregates two-under 214 compared to Ghei's one-over 217.

Amandeep Johl shared the 48th position with Ghei after a three-over 75 to end up with a tally of one-over 217.

The only other Indian in fray, Kolkata talent SSP Chowrasia continued his woeful run of form as he shot a disastrous four-over 76 to finish the third round at tied 58th.

Digvijay Singh was the lone Indian to miss the halfway cut yesterday.

Atop the charts, local hero Bae Sang-moon managed a one-under 71 but continued to dominate in familiar conditions to open up a four-stroke lead over US' David Oh and countrymate Kim Hyung -tae going into the final round.

Meanwhile, world number 29, Australia's Aaron Baddeley, continued his rise when he carded a 71 in tied fourth spot alongside Choi Hyuk-jae.
