Ganga replaces Sarwan as West Indies captain

LONDON, June 5 (Reuters) West Indies named Daren Ganga as captain today in place of the injured Ramnaresh Sarwan for the remaining tests against England.

Sarwan was ruled out of the rest of the tour last week after suffering a shoulder injury while falling awkwardly trying to prevent a boundary on the first day of the second test.

Ganga, who steps up from vice-captain, will take charge for the remaining two tests at Old Trafford and Durham.

West Indies spokesman Imran Khan said a decision on the captaincy for the one-day series and Twenty 20 matches would be made at a later date.

England lead the four-test series 1-0. The third test, at Old Trafford, starts on Thursday.
