Four Indians in World Cadet Championship quarter-finals

New Delhi, Sept 4 (UNI) Continuing their unbeaten run, four of the five Indian pugilists have advanced to the quarter-finals of the sixth AIBA Cadet World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Vikas Yadav showed beautiful exhibition of timing to overpower Russia's Vladimir Gavrilov 29-15 in the 48 kg category last night to set up a quarter-final fight with Elvin de Mamishza of the host country.

Vankala Durgarao outpunched Kristian Nagy of Hungary 20-9 in the 54kg category preliminary rounds on Day four yesterday to face American Frankie Gomez for a place in the last four.

Earlier on Sunday, Vipin Kumar (50kg) and Parmod Kumar (52kg) had also booked last eight berths defeating Farson Chilubayev of Russia 21-9 and Williams Timacoy of Australia 15-7, according to information received here.

In the 46kg category, Umesh Yadav will open his campaign against Omurbek Malabekov of Kyrgysztan after getting a bye in the first round.
