First time ever, Kashmiri girls take part in Snow Rugby
Gulmarg, Jan 15 (UNI) For the first time ever, Kashmiri girls took part in the Snow Rugby championship which concluded at this famed ski resort.
A tough contest was witnessed among four teams of girls during the two-day championship which also saw participation of about 10 teams in the boy's category.
The tourney was organised by Jammu and Kashmir Rugby Football Association in collaboration with the Tourism Department to popularise the sport in the state.
Power Minister Nawang Rigzin Jora later distributed among the outstanding players.
On the occasion, Tourism Director Farooq Ahmad Shah said a conditioning camp for rugby players of the state would be held here in February.
He expressed the hope that an international-level snow rugby championship would soon be held here in view of the importance and significance of Gulmarg as the favourite tourist destination.
