First Indian Grand Prix athletics on May 2

Patiala, Apr 30 (UNI) The First Indian Grand Prix 2007, earlier called Domestic Athletic Meet, is slated for May 2 at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NIS) here.

All Indian top flight men and women athletes will take part in the meet in the following events: 100m(men), 400m(men and women), discus(women), javelin(men), long jump(men), triple jump(men) and shot put(men).

From Patiala the focus will shift to Kolkata where the Federation Cup will take place from May 10 to 13. This will be the final selection trials for men and women athletes who will form part of the Indian athletic squad for the Asian Athletic Championship slated for July 29 to August 2 in Beruit, Lebanon.
