First day's play between Andhra and TN called off

Vijayawada, Nov 29 (UNI) The first day's play between Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu in the Group ''B'' Elite-B Ranji Trophy cricket championship match could not take place at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium here today as some parts of the playing area were wet due to overnight downpour.

Umpires K N Anathapadmanabhan and B Ajith Kumar made four inspections before calling off the day's play. They took the final decision after discussions with both the captains as well as the Match Referee.

The umpires decided to extend the play by 30 minutes beyond the closing time for the next three days to minimise the loss of play today.
