The Madhya Pradesh athlete breached the prestigious 20m barrier for the first time, registering a massive 20.46m throw to clinch gold and comfortably cross the Commonwealth Games qualification mark of 20.36m.

Former national record holder Tajinderpal Singh Toor finished second with 20.07m, while Karanveer Singh secured bronze with 19.38m.

After rewriting the National Record in the 100m earlier this week, Animesh Kujur added another gold medal to his Federation Cup 2026 campaign by winning the men's 200m final in Ranchi.
