Lahore, May 31 (UNI) In a what came as a shame to Rugby Football Union of India (RFUI), President of the Pakistan Rugby Union Fawzi Khawaja has alleged that a fake Indian team was currently on the nation's tour for a three-Test series.

''Our rugby union is the sole body affiliated with the International Rugby Board and we have no knowledge on whose invitation the Indians are in Pakistan,'' Khawaja told 'The Dawn'.

''We have also contacted the President of RFUI Pramod Khanna asking him to explain the status of the Indian team which is currently in Pakistan,'' he added.

However, in reply, the Indian rugby authorities has stated that they has no knowledge about the national team's visit to their country.

''This news has come as a surprise to us. It may please be noted that the RFUI is the sole governing body for the game of rugby-football in India and it did not send any team to Pakistan,'' a statement from RFUI read.
