Ex- Pak captain blames coach Alam for team's debacle

Lahore, Oct. 5 (ANI): In the wake of Pakistan's dismal ouster in Champions Trophy semi-final, former skipper Aamer Sohail has slammed the strategy of coach Intikhab Alam.

"I was surprised at the planning, that included field placements and bowling changes, during the New Zealand innings," the Daily Times quoted Sohail, as saying.

"If there were mistakes made on the field and if the captain was not clear in his mind, it was the job of the coach and support staff sitting outside to send in the required messages to put things right," he added.

Sohail went onto question the inactiveness shown by Pakistan team's support staff.

"What was the support staff doing? Nowadays in international cricket the coach and the support staff are there to help the captain and players in such situations. But we didn't see any initiative from the support staff when we were going down," Sohail said. (ANI)
