East zone inter-varsity basketball tournament from tomorrow

Varanasi, Nov 21 (UNI) A five-day east zone inter-university basketball (men's) tournament would commence at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) here from tomorrow.

The vice chancellor of the BHU Dhirendra Pal Singh will inaugurate the tournament at amphitheatre basketball court of the varsity.

Altogether 18 teams from the universities of east zone, including Ranchi, BHU, Vinova Bhave and Mahatama Gandhi kashi vidyapeeth will participate in the tournament, organising secretary of the tournament Minu Lakra said today.

The teams have been divided into four groups and the matches would be layed on knockout basis, he informed adding, the winners of league match (four teams) will participate in the All India Inter-university competition scheduled from January 12 to 15 next year at Punjab university.
