Double glory for Karthik Shankar of Team Wallace Sports
Chennai, May 6 (UNI) Delhi racer Karthik Shankar of Team Wallace Sports was on song as he hogged the limelight winning both the races and emerged on top of the leaderboard in the fourth round of the J K Tyre Junior Racing Cup 2007 at the modern race track at Irungattukottai about 40 km from here today.
At the end of Round four, Karthik Shankar leads the overall pack with 59 points. Narain Shankar of Team Rams Racing with 58 points was placed second and Sudarshan Rao with 56 points was placed third.
Rohit Khanna, Nischay and Kapil Khanna were in the fourth, fifth and sixth positions with 36, 29 and 24 points respectively.
In the first race, Karthik, starting in pole position raced off to a comfortable lead and held on it till the chequered flag. Narain Shankar, starting fourth on the grid, did well to move up to reach the second place, but could not improve further as Karthik Shankar was placed well ahead.
Finishing in third place was Bangalore lead Nischay from Team Wallace Sports. Karthik Shankar had the fastest lap timing of 01:14:01.
In the second race also it was Karthik Shankar all the way as he registered his second win of the day by a comfortable margin.
Karthik had a good start which enabled him to build up a comfortable lead. Once again Narain Shankar finished second and Nischay finished third.
