Don't expect Symonds to be a saint: Sports psychologist

Melbourne, Nov 14 (UNI) Sports psychologist Phil Jauncey, who guided troubled all-rounder Andrew Symonds back to cricket, has warned Australia not to expect him to be an overnight ''saint'' as his push for a Test recall gathered momentum.

Symonds was yesterday named in a 13-man squad for next week's first Test against New Zealand at the Gabba, but Jauncey said he would continue to face major challenges of the mind.

''Don't expect him to be a saint. He has been dealing with some issues and problems and they may crop up again in the future,'' Jauncey was quoted as saying by the 'Herald Sun'.

''Roy has made great progress in the last few months but there are some fairly complex issues involved.'' Jauncey was one of a Cricket Australia appointed rehabilitation panel that cleared Symonds for selection.
