Deshpande, Suvarna set up final clash in women's event at DEMAG Cup

Pune, July 31 (UNI) Neha Deshpande of UBICS and Binduraj Suvarna (Infosys) will clash in the finals of the women's singles at DEMAG Cup Table Tennis Challenge second in the series of corporate sports, organised by Sport Nexus, played at the Town Hall Committee Sports Complex here today.

In the women's semi-finals, Deshpande defeated Suvarna of Infosys 11-8, 11-9, 11-13, 11-5 in the toughest round robin match, while Suvarna ousted Prachi Narawde of Cybage 11-7, 11-6, 11-6 in another encounter to make it to the finals.

In men's singles semi-finals, Amit Bhandare of PTC had to go through a harrowing time before overcoming Atul Aphale of Geometric 12-10, 11-13, 11-3, 6-11, 14-12, while Ajay Nagraj of Infosys upset Hiresh Dandekar of Cognizant 7-11, 11-5, 14-12, 12-8 in another close encounter.
