Dempo announces Rs 23 lakh incentives for players, officials

Panaji, Mar 1 (UNI) Dempo Group of Companies Chairman Srinivas Dempo, who is also the president of the club, today announced cash incentives of Rs 23 lakh for its players and officials for emerging as the champions club of India and lifting the coveted inaugural ONGC I-League Championship trophy.

Mr Dempo made this announcement on the occasion of the felicitation function of the players and officials, organised in Goa.

While complimenting the team, he said they had made Goa and Dempo proud.

''Head Coach Armando Colaco did a fantastic job and the contribution from players and officials helped in achieving this feat,'' Mr Dempo added.

He said, ''We have big plans for football in future also and hope the team will perform even better in the AFC cup.'' Mr Colaco thanked Mr Dempo for the motivation and encouragement given to him which helped him and his team to emerge as the champions club of India.

Earlier, captain of the team Renty Martin handed over the glittering I-League trophy to Mr Dempo.

Dempo Mining Managing Director Vishwas Dempo and former AIFF Vice-President Vilas Sardesai were also present at the function.
