Delhi to host ONGC International Cup in August

New Delhi, June 4 (UNI) In a move which will bring smiles on capital's football fans, the AIFF has decided to hold ONGC International Cup in Delhi and Gurgaon in August.

''A six team tournament participated by national 'A' teams will be held in Delhi and Haryana,'' national coach Bob Houghton said while interacting with reporters here today.

''A good performance in the tournament will boost our FIFA rankings,'' he added.

The tournament will be held at Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi and Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon which had successfully held Santosh Trophy and Super Cup matches, AIFF sources said.

The national players will have their first international games of the new season in the tournament.

Houghton also announced a list of 27 players for a coaching camp prior to the tournament.

A fitness preparation camp will be held from June 26 to July 10 and training camp from July 12-31 before a final camp from August 6-13.
