Delhi registers convincing victory over AP

Lucknow, Jan 3 (UNI) Delhi registered a one-sided convincing win over Andhra Pradesh by 9 wickets on the second day of the All India Indira Gandhi Priyadarshni Memorial women cricket championship here today.

In another match at the K D Singh Babu stadium, Maharashtra beat holders Madhya Pradesh by 19 runs.

Electing to bat first at the Sports College grounds, AP team was bundled out by Delhi bowlers at a paltry 59 runs on the board, P Radhika top scored with 11, while other batswomen failed to reach double figure mark.

Meenu Bhan and Nidhi claimed three wickets each giving away 17 and 07 runs respectively.

In reply, Delhi romped home in 11 overs losing only one wicket.

At the K D Singh Babu Stadium, holders MP, who had registered 21 runs victory over West Bengal yesterday, lost to Maharashtra by 19 runs.

Batting first, Maharashtra girls put up 117 runs in 29 overs.

Bhavna Srivastava and Preeti Kushwaha claimed 3 wickets each for MP.

In reply, MP girls mustered only 98 runs within 30 overs. There tailender Hari Priya (19) remained the top scorer.

Madhura Athavle (3/15) and Tanvi Takne (2/14) were the successful bowlers for the winners.

On day 3, Maharashtra will play against WB at Sports College, while UP will clash with AP at K D Singh Babu Stadium.
