Delhi half marathon world's richest with 1.6 lakh dollar offer

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) The October 28 Delhi half marathon will offer a prize money of 160,000-dollar thus making it the richest such event in the world, its organisers said.

Harit Nagpal, Director marketing and new business for Hutch, made the announcement here yesterday.

Self-registration kiosks would be set up across the Capital to make it easier for participants to sign up for the event, the organisers said.

Meanwhile, Indian Olympic Association president Suresh Kalmadi became the first person to sign up for the event.

''I am very delighted that corporates are coming forward and helping the cause of sports,'' Kalmadi said.

The Hutch Delhi half marathon will be held two weeks later than the last two editions.

UNI
