Delay in holding National Games to soil Jharkhand's image
Ranchi, Jan 21 (UNI) Expressing concern over ''non-cooperative'' attitude of the bureaucrats with the Jharkhand government on preparation for the proposed 34th National Games, Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) today said the image of the state would be tarnished once again if the games were not organised on the scheduled time.
FJCCI president Arjun Jalan said earlier the state had faced embarrassment on Mittal issue as the state government failed to take measures after signing multi-crore MoU with a umber of companies and it was now the National Games.
Speaking at a function organised for the publicity of the National Games, Mr Jalan said the state capital lacked basic ameneties required for the Games, adding businessmen would also exert pressurr on the state government to expedite the construction work.
Mr Jalan said Jharkhand was acclaimed at national and international level when MoU with the industrial houses were signed but had to face embarrassment when the government failed to take necessary steps to bring those MoU to the floor.
He said the image would also be maligned if the sportsmen participating in the Games faced lack of basic amenities.
