Deccan Chargers bank on home crowd, strategy

Hyderabad, Apr 21 (UNI) Looking at a good batting wicket at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium here,Deccan Chargers skipper VVS Laxman is weaving a new strategy to baulk Delhi Dare Devils with the huge backing of the home crowd in the crucial contest of the Indian Premier League (IPL) tomorrow.

After being abused by the under-prepared Eden Garden Turf and eight-ball deficit at Kolkata, Laxman has charted a game plan for the play.

''It appears to be a good batting wicket,'' he surmised during a brief media interaction at the flood-lit stadium on the eve of the second outing in the IPL.

Awaiting the arrival of the mercurial Shahid Afridi late tonight, the two are set to draw the final 11 of the Deccan Chargers only few hours before the match begins at 2000 hrs.

Though the huge boisterous support the Kolkata crowd gave Knight Riders could be a bit difficult, Laxam, however, is very much looking to leverage the home crowd backing to contain the rivals.
