Death anniversary of Coubertin observed in Manipur

Imphal, Sep 2 (UNI) The 70th anniversary of death of Baron Pierre De Coubertin, the founder of modern Olympic Games in 1896, was observed at Singjamei here today.

Many current and former sportspersons and dignitaries including president of Asian Academy of Amres (AAA) Birendra Kangjam and secretary general Artistique Fencing Federation of India Dr T Tarunkanta Singh paid floral tributes to Coubertine's photo.

A photo exhibition depicting different moods of the founder of the olympic games was also held.
