Cycle expedition to Bangalore flagged off

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6 (UNI) A cycle expedition was flagged off from here today as part of 227th 'Raising Day' celebrations of Madras Engineer Group and Centre.

Brigadier PM Hariz, VSM, Pangode Military Station Commander, flagged off the expedition, which comprises one officer, one JCO and 16 Jawans.

According to a release, the expedition will pass through major cities in Kerala and reach Bangalore on September 20 covering a distance of 700 km. The cycle expedition is aimed at fostering camaraderie between serving and retired soldiers, interact with ex-servicemen, 'Veer Naaris' and their relatives to know and mitigate their problems.
