CSJC members Elect New body for 2007-08

Kolkata, Apr 30 (UNI) Gautam Bhattacharya of Ananda Bazar Patrika and Suven Raha of Kalantar retained their respective posts of president and secretary of Calcutta Sports Journalists' Club after being relected unopposed for 2007-08 at the AGM held in the club premises today.

Other members elected unopposed were vice-presidents S Sabanayakam (The Hindu), Tapan Dam (Sambad Pratidin) and Manas Kumar Chakraborty (Ananda Bazar).

Purnendu Chakraborty of Dainik Basumati retained the post of Treasurer and Amitava Das Sharma (The Hindu) as Assistant Secretary.

Executive members were Manik Banerjee (AP), Samir Goswami (Bartaman), Dhiman Sarkar (Hindustan Times), Amarendra Chakraborty (Ganashakti), Saibal Bose (Times of India), Atreyo Mukhopadhyay (Hindustan Times) and Arun Pal of Pratyahik Sambad.

Mr Bhattacharya reminded the memebrs that CSJC this year completed its Golden Jubilee celebration bestowing life time achievement award to cricketing icon Sunil Gavaskar recently and called upon the members to make all out effort to take the organsiation into a heritage status.

UNI
