Copenhagen clinch Danish title with win at Brondby

COPENHAGEN, May 9 (Reuters) FC Copenhagen secured their second consecutive Danish championship title with four matches to play by beating city rivals Brondby 1-0 today.

Victory gave Copenhagen an unassailable 13-point lead over second-placed FC Midtjylland, their sixth title since 1992 when the club was formed from the merger of KB and Boldklubben 1903.

Swedish international Marcus Allback scored the only goal with a close-range header in the 33rd minute.

Copenhagen, who had captain and Swedish international Tobias Linderoth sent off in the 75th minute for two yellow cards, can secure a domestic double when they play Odense in the cup final on May 17.
