Committee to review NIS's HR requirements
Patiala, Jan 10 (UNI) Keeping in view the changing global scenario and intense competition in sports, Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has constituted a high power committee to review the arrangements and human resources requirements of Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS), Patiala.
The committee, which consists of members from various fields, would review and give its recommendations with regard to the changes in academic programme and requirement of the faculty and staff according to university or medical college norms.
The committee would also review and recommend the changes in institutional arrangements of NSNIS and submit the report by March 31, to the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
University Grant Commission (UGC) Vice Chairman Prof Moolchand Sharma has been appointed the chairman of committee and L S Ranawat, ED (Academics), NIS Patiala as Convener. Besides Ratan P Watal, Director General, Sports Authority of India, the other members are S Krishnan, Additional Secretary (Sports), Prof Dayanand Dongaonkar, Secretary, AIU, Dr M Robson, Ex Dean, LNCPE, Maj Gen S N Mukherjee, VC, LNIPE, Gwalior, Dr Sunil Jain, Physician, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi and Member of the Ethics Committee of Dope Control Centre, Colonel Satpal Ahlawat, Commandant of Army Sports Institute, Pune, J S Saini, Dronacharya and Chairman of NIS 2020 Vision, Ajit Pal Singh, Olympian, Dr A M Moorthy, Dean, Faculty of Education and Professor, Health Sciences, Alagappa University, Karaikudi (TN).
The changes and recommendations suggested by the committee, after examination would be implemented within 11th Five Year Plan.
