Coach reject Whatmore cleared for NCA Director's job

New Delhi, Oct 5 (UNI) Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today approved the name of former Sri Lanka and Bangladesh coach Dav Whatmore for the post of National Cricket Academy (NCA) Director of Operations.

Academy chairman and former India all-rounder Ravi Shastri, who suggested Whatmore's name for the job, will hold discussion with the Aussie, a BCCI statement said.

''Ravi Shastri after taking over as the Chairman of the National Cricket Academy is in discussion with Dav Whatmore for appointment as Director Operations at the NCA after his suggestion got the approval of Sharad Pawar, President of BCCI,'' Board Secretary Niranjan Shah said in the staement.
