CM's team wins golf championship in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 17 (UNI) Tulips, led by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, lifted the Spring Swing Golf Championship here, defeating Daffodils convincingly.
The championship was organised by the state Tourism Department at the Royal Springs Golf Course here.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Anil Goswami led the Daffodil team.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister hoped that more and more golfers would visit Kashmir, thus giving a boost to the economic activities in the Valley.
He said creation of the necessary infrastructure for golf would open more vistas for international events and give fillip to tourism in the state. The Kashmir valley has great potential to attract tourists from all over the world, he added.
Mr Azad said the Royal Springs Golf Course was one of the best golf courses in the world. The golf courses at Pahalgam and Gulmarg were being upgraded to an international level, he added.
Tourism Director Farooq Ahmad Shah briefed about the event and said that the championship would be held every month.
He said the Ambassadors' Cup and the CM's championship would also be held in the valley in the near future.
