City sets up for World Military Games

Hyderabad, Aug 29 (UNI) The government of Andhra Pradesh has drawn up detailed plans and action points, preparing for Military World Games in October this year.

In a statement here, state Chief Secretary J Harinarayan said caution as well as aggressive prepartions were part of the mammoth effort to ensure the security of the citizens and visitors to the historic city.

He said the state government would maintain ''Hyderabad as one among the safest places in the world'' and visitors should not harbour any apprehensions to visit the city.

He said Hyderabad had a history of tranquility, peace and harmony for ages.

The security had been beefed up, intelligence gathering had been stepped up and the citizens were alerted to give information about any suspicious movement, he added.
