Chopra finishes tied 39th at Byron

Irving, Texas, Apr 30 (UNI) India-born Swede Daniel Chopra carded a vastly improved final round three-under 67 to finish tied 39th at the 6,300,000 dollar Byron Nelson Championship here.

Tied 56th overnight, Chopra enjoyed a bogey-free back nine and reeled off four birdies agaisnt a solitary bogey in all.

Earlier, an off-colour Jeev Milkha Singh, the first Indian to debut and make the cut at Augusta Masters, missed his second successive cut here after he failed to advance at Verizon Heritage Classic two weeks back.

Atop the leaderboard, American Scott, who was one stroke behind overnight leader Luke Donald of Britain, surged ahead with a brilliant four-under 66 to aggregate 13-under 267 to win the event.

Donald, who carded two-under 268 totalled 12-under 268 but was left ruing a double-bogey on par-four ninth hole to untimately lose to the chasing Scott.

Meanwhile, Vijay Singh finished tied 13th while Phil Mickelson sahred the thrid spot with two others.
