Chennai allotted Pre Olympic matches

Chennai, Feb 1 (UNI) Chennai has been allotted two Pre Olympic football matches involving India, one in the men's and another in the women's section at the Nehru stadium here on February 14 and 25, respectively.

Announcing this at a press conference here, All India Football Federation (AIFF) Vice President C R Visswanathan said the men's match would be against the winner of the Turkmenistan-Thailand match after India first takes on Myanmar.

''We are cofident that India would emerge the winner against Myanmar'', he said, adding however, if India loses against Myanmar, the match would be in Thailand.

The women's match would be between India and Korean Republic.

The above matches are Asian Football Confederation preliminary matches to decide the qualifiers for the football competition in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
