Chawla bowls India under-19 to huge win over New Zealand
Mumbai, Jan 24 (UNI) India under-19 leg spinner Piyush Chawla put in a match winning performance, taking 5 for 19, to dismiss their New Zealand counterparts for a paltry 147 and register an innings and 50 runs win in the first Test match played at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in New Zealand.
According to information received here the Indian under-19 team batting first had rattled up a huge score of 499 for eight declared with centuries from Ravi Teja (105), Virat Kohli (113) and Piyush Chawla (119).
In reply, the New Zealand colts were bundled out for 302 runs in their first innings with pace bowler Ishant Sharma taking 5 for 55.
Following on, the New Zealand batsmen had no answer to the spin of Piyush Chawla being bowled out for 147 to give India a resounding win in the first of the three Test series.
