Chappell clarifies he did not fear for his life
New Delhi, Apr 13: Former India coach Greg Chappell has rubbished Australian media reports that he feared for his life following the shocking loss to Bangladesh in the World Cup. ''I never made that statement and nor did I feel that my life was in danger at any time during my stay in India,'' Chappell clarified. Chappell requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India to issue a press statement on his behalf to clarify on the media reports that he reportedly feared for safety following the shocking loss to Bangladesh and Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer's death.
The BCCI's reported offer of a consultant to Chappell at National Cricket Academy might come to nought as the former Australian skipper looks set to succeed new Australian coach Tim Nielsen as the head coach of Australian Cricket Academy.
Tim Nielsen, will take over the Australian team's reins from John Buchanan after the World Cup.
Chappell, however, said he would reveal his future plans within three weeks.
''I am not making decisions yet but after a while I will look at the options,'' he said.
