Chandigarh lift Sushil Bali Punjab inter district trophy
Chandigarh, Apr 30 (UNI) Chandigarh defeated Patiala by virtue of their first innings lead of 59 runs in the final of the three-day Punjab Inter-District U-15 Cricket Tournament for the Sushil Bali Trophy at PCA Stadium in Mohali today.
Chandigarh were all out for 282 runs in the second innings in 121.2 overs. Their opening batsman and skipper Manan Vorha went on to record another century (113) embellished with 18 fours. He was involved in a 58 runs stand for the second wicket with Veerkaran Goel and fifth wicket stand off 57 runs with Subham Mahajan and then a 54 runs stand with Sahnul Rathi for the sixth wicket.
Shubam Mahajan (29), Sahnul Rathi (26) Hitesh Bhuttani (30), and Lovesh bansal (34) were the other notable contributers. Left arm spiner Gouravpreet Singh (3 for 70) and right arm spinner Vikramaditya (3 for 44) were the main wicket takers for Patiala.
Dronacharya awardee D P Azad gave away the winners trophy and cash prize of Rs 30,000 to the Chandigarh team.
