Chandigarh Golfing Tour begins on April 13

Chandigarh, Apr 10 (UNI) More than 40 golfers, including three girls, will compete in the inaugural Chandigarh Golfing Tour for EmaarMGF Golf Championship Trophy.

Announcing this here today, Chandigarh Golf Association (CGA) president C S R Reddy said the first chapter of the Chandigarh Golf Tourism would begin on April 13.

With a vew to promoting golf in Chandigarh and surrounding areas, the competitors will tee off at the sprawling Chandigarh Golf Club.

The Panchkula Golf Club will be the venue for the second day on April 14.

A nine-hole pitch-and-putt competitions will be organised at the Chandigarh Golf Range on April 15.

Mr Reddy said the event would expose golf infrastructure in this region and enchance the image of Chandigarh as a golfing destination.

An organising committee headed by Mr Reddy has been formed.

Director, Tourism Chandigarh Vivek Atray said he was confident that this event would encourge tourism in a big way and may also be made as an annual feature.

The event is being organised in association with Tourism Department of Chandigarh, Hotel and Restaurant Association Chandigarh, Travel Agents Association of India and Travel Agents Federation of India.
