CFA, SSCB maintain winning spree in Challenge Cup

Chandigarh, Sept 4 (UNI) Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) and Chandigarh Football Academy (CFA) continued their winning spree and brightened their chances to qualify for the semi-finals in the fifth Administrator's Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament for Under-17 at the Sector 17 Football Stadium and the Sector 42 Sports Complex Football Ground here.

Bolstered by a double hat-trick of Jacki Chand Singh (7 goals), SSCB routed Daman and Diu 11-0 for their second successive triumph in group D match at the Sector 42 Sports Complex Football Ground. It was second successive win for the fleet-footed Services lads.

Chandigarh Football Academy thrashed Rajasthan Football Association 9-0 in their group A at the Sector 17 Football Stadium. The star performer was Pankaj Negi who scored four goals, including a hat-trick.

CFA had earlier beaten Orissa Football Association 6-1 in their opening match. With Andrhra Pradesh FA team withdrawing, CFA will face Delhi Soccer Association in their last league fixture on September 9.

In a group C match at the same venue, Mizoram FA outclassed Jammu and Kashmir 7-0. The highlight of the match was a hat-trick by KL Alchhanmana. who scored in the 8th, 15th and 49th minutes.

Meanwhile, in a group B outing, Punjab Football Academy of Rurka Kalan handed out a 9-0 drubbing to Chattisgarh Football Association.

Striker Sukhpal contributed three goals, no hat-trick.

It was first win for PFA Rurka Kalan from two matches.

Chattisgarh suffered their second succesive defeat from two outings.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Public School Academy of Chandigarh tasted their first victory as they beat Cantonment Board Senior Secondary School of Jalandhar 4-1 in a group D fixture.
