Castrol kickstarts Power1 Throttle Max Biking Championship

Mumbai, May 23 (UNI) Castrol India Ltd. is back with maximum throttle yet again to identify India's most passionate and skillful biker with Castrol Power1 Throttle Max 2007 beginning this weekend.

After the success of Throttle Max 2006 across eight cities, the hunt for the most skillful rider now spans eleven cities in India.

Two winners from each of these cities will compete against each other at the finals which will be held in Indore on June 16.

The Castrol Throttle Max event provides a platform to passionate bikers to prove their grit, determination and skill. This weekend the event will take place on Saturday, May 26 at the Chitrakoot Grounds located near Fun Republic at Andheri West from 0900 hrs onwards, a release stated.

John Abraham, actor and brand ambassador for Castrol Power1, said, ''I am happy that Castrol is pursuing this challenge this year as well, so as to reach out to every biker and to increasingly promote the spirit of biking in India'', John added .

A S Ramchander, Executive Director, Castrol India Ltd. was quoted as saying in the release we conceptualized it because we understand and associate with the passion of bikers. The Trizone Technology, which goes into our motorcycle oils, exemplifies that with Castrol, its more than just oil, its Liquid Engineering.'' Around 1000 riders are expected to participate in this exciting event across the country.

The participants have to complete three stages on a dirt track - an open straight stretch, obstacle course and a wiggle-woggle section. The winner will be chosen based on a point system, the release said.

Participants can compete in two categories: A: Stock bikes up to 125 cc (4 stroke, Indian made) B: 126 cc to 250 cc (4 stroke, Indian made).

The Max champion in each category will get to travel to Malaysia with John Abraham to watch the Moto GP 2007, the release added.
