Castillo doubtful for semi-final

PUERTO LA CRUZ, Venezuela, July 10 (Reuters) Mexico striker Nery Castillo, one of the Copa America revelations, is doubtful for tomorrow's semi-final against Argentina, coach Hugo Sanchez said today.

The Olympiakos player, who had also been courted by Uruguay and Greece before opting to play for Mexico this year, has a swollen left knee after taking a knock in the 6-0 win over Paraguay in the quarter-finals.

''It's worrying, because there are only a few hours before the game and if Nery can't play, we will lose an important player who worries opponents,'' said Sanchez.

''There are players who can replace him and who have different characteristics,'' added Sanchez.

Castillo, who has scored four goals in the tournament, said: ''I hope that time passes slowly so that I can play in the game, enjoy it and win it.'' REUTERS SSC PM2150
